Troop 441 is at the Cen Ten O Ree at Whittier Narrows Regional park this weekend. 4000 boy scouts celebrating 100 years of scouting in America.

Cub Pack 805C and Boy Scout Troop 441 marched in the Downey Christmas Parade. A large contingent of Cub Scouts dressed as Christmas presents, while the Webelos (4th and 5th graders) had sacks of presents to carry in the parade. Additionally, several of our boys helped carry banners throughout the parade, supporting the sponsors who made the parade possible.

“You do feel like you’re part of the community,” said Downey Eagle Scout David Kim. “You are learning to be a functioning citizen. You are learning to be an engaged resident whether it’s in the community or the country.
“Kids might not realize it, but they grow up in the Scouts, and learn to play a role in the community.”

Two weekends ago, right after school let out, we camped at Manker Flats in the mountains, and hiked to the top of Mt. Baldy (also known officially as Mt. San Antonio).

The boys hiked along the Devil’s Backbone, across the mountain ridges.
This year, Troop 441 will be attending Forest Lawn Scout Reservation. We’ll meet at Apollo Park on Sunday, July 6, and return on Saturday July 12.

Class 1 Medical Form
Class 2 or Class 3 Medical Form
Talent Release Form
Advancement & Merit Badge Signup Forms
Permission slips: Firearms, Horseback, Liability and Medical Permission
Without these forms, a Scout either may not go, or will not be able to participate in all activities. Links to each form will be coming up soon!
